Hey guys/girls i'm wondering if any of you ever get the feeling like the world is crashing in on you and can't finish something you have started an worked hard on. For instance I'm in college summer school and we have this overview paper due this friday and although I have been going to class everyday and have kept up really well with my paper I just all he sudden got burnt out and cant seem to find the desire to finish it. Is this just typical college student behaviour? I stayed after class today per request of the teacher as did a few other students and after going over my paper I only have a few things i need to work on, it would literally take me a 3-4 hours to finish but I just seem to have lost the desire to even go to class tomorrow, even though it's not mandatory for me and finishing my paper. Part of me wants to go to class because I feel I have a moral reason to show up everyday, but parts of me wants to just take a "sick" day and quietly submit my paper sometime tomorrow when i get around to finishing it.

I get burnt out every now and then. I feel like that now. I don't know what causes it.
I wonder if you just feel you need time out. Or is the college course become the problem, have you gone off the subject or the idea of playing the student? Have you been socialising? Because i think that has a burn out effect on me. If you can get away with not going to class tomorrow and you really don't feel up to it then don't. But it sounds like you should finish the paper you need to do.

It think what is, Robdemanc. I have been so focused the first 2 weeks on paying attention to everything and today I felt burnt out and didn't feel like paying attention to the lesson. On top of that I had to wait 30 minutes after that to get the teacher to look over my paper and the one on one socializing is awkward for me, but it was important enough that I feel now i can finish my paper and get the grade I want.

I usually burn out after a lot of socializing or at the end of a semester or work day.
