Although the show is mainly about Tourette syndrome WHICH I ALSO HAVE... It also features people with Asperger syndrome and narcolepsy. I personally find it really offensive. What do you guys think?

Also they got their facts pretty wrong about Tourette syndrome so I dread to think what they will say about people with AS...

I don't think it's a bad idea and I'm not offended by the concept, I'm just offended by the ignorance the general public tends to have on things such as TS and AS, but I don't think that can be helped.

I personaly don't want to date. I don't have a girlfriend/boyfriend because I don't need to validate my existence through the existence of someone else. Having a girlfriend/boyfriend does not make you a better person nor does it prove to the rest of your friends that your cool. I'm personally 100% confidant in my own personality to be able to live a viable existence without having to have a f*****g leech clinging. Stop getting into superficial relationship BS. Most of an individual's misery usually comes from a significant other, a bad relationship, a bad marriage or some BS like that. How about just getting to know yourself and living life?

If you are offended by something the newspaper has published, and if you think there are inaccuracies especially, then write to the editor. I've emailed the Sun before about inaccurate reporting on schizophrenia.

editor@the-sun.co.uk

It doesn't have to be long, just state the facts, don't get emotional. They will probably reply to you.

But... Tourette's is just tics and twitches and generally random movements/sounds. I don't see how in the world you could think that made somebody "undateable" unless you were a seriously shallow person. You know, if they got their Tourette's facts all wrong, I bet they got the "undateable" bit wrong too. If I were in the marriage market, I wouldn't care if a potential partner had tics. I mean... jeez, they're tics. Why would that even be an issue!?

Please don't do anything like that. We are not undateable, that is what I am trying to say. Luckily I have several high profile friends who happen to be working with the producers on this project and apparently it was the Sun who got the facts wrong. As far as my friend is concerned, they are handling the filming with care rather than trying to film a freak show (As Tourettes is often portrayed). Me and a lot of my friends think that the title is innappropriate and we will be discussing this with the producers of the show. 'The Undateables' is the working title, so hopefully we can get them to change this. The Sun have now taken the article down after Tourettes action contacted them.

I will continue to monitor the situation. The programme isn't due to air until early next year so that's plenty of time to get them to change the name.

So we're undatable?

Well, so be it. I don't like dating anyway.

Well just because I have AS doesn't mean I'm incapable of getting a boyfriend. They say there's someone out there for everyone. Not being horrible but I think the only types of people who probably won't find a boy/girlfriend are those with severe mental conditions who can't make any communication with anybody (even with others similar), and need 24-hour care. I know a 19-year-old boy who is like this. He just lives in a wheelchair and has the mind of a 1-year-old. He is always very happy, but can't talk or do anything at all for himself. I think I have more chance than he does. I've already been asked on a date by 4 different men this year, but neither of them are my type and so I turned them down. I have got my eye on a man who I really would love to climb into bed with! And I think he likes me too. And even if he didn't, he still likes the idea of me liking him.

I wish I had the mind of a 1-year old.
That would probably make me less cynical when it comes to men.

O my, I have become a threadkiller here!
How strange, that always used to happen to me on Dutch forums as well. Does anyone happen to know any good Moldavian forums?

It's not a symbiotic relationship! They complement each other, they don't NEED each other. Also, problems come from BAD relationships. Not ones done right.
