Anybody else get dizzy and feel like they have a fist clinching them while out and about? Sometimes my appetite is suppressed as well.

I don't get dizzy, I just get stressed out or feel impatient like I want to get out of there. I hate shopping when it's a chore. I just find it stressful and I get anxiety for no reason sometimes.

I really like shopping but yes it does make me very anxious at times, so many people and sensory input.

Yes I have numerous of times! When I was younger and shopped with my mum with all the people and the noise I would completely break down and I couldn't communicate with my mum. Always ending in me finding a toilet, locking myself and cry.
I generally now like getting new clothe, but sometimes I get too sensory overwhelmed.
Ex. A couple of months ago I was actually exited to go shopping and I walk into a new clothing shop. It was extremely warm, really bright lights, so many freaking people and way too loud music playing. I couldn't focus at all. I just choose some clothe, went shaking into the trying room and almost puked. I went straight home soon after and never visited that shop ever again.
But thankfully this doesn't happen that often

I experience a lot of anxiety when shopping. Grocery shopping is the worse. I try to get it done as fast as I can so I can get out of there. I don't like busy stores.

I don't always feel dizzy in crowded places... but on my worst days, it's kinda like riding on a Merry-Go-Round going 100mph.

Sometimes my vision gets sharper and I feel this horrible intensity inside when I'm in public. That actually happened to me in class today. Is this more likely related to autism or some sort of unrelated anxiety issue?

I'm just constantly worrying about getting in people's way all the time, and spend more time avoiding getting in people's way than I do looking at the items in the shops. I know it's not supposed to be a big deal, but it's just an irrational anxiety I seem to have at the moment. Hopefully I will snap out of it. It's normal for me to go through stupid phases like this.

I think shopping during busy times is terrible. I can't stand all the stuff going on around me. There's too much noise and commotion. And too many people squishing into everyone else including me. That kind of environment causes me a lot of stress and anxiety---from the sensory overload. I have had to find a quiet area in shopping centers before just to get away from everything while my wife shops.

I love being out, as opposed to sitting on my butt at home, being bored.
But I can't stand it when there are people in my space, or parents who allow their children to scream.

I have to remove myself, lest "something" happen.

I used to have a lot of fear and anxiety while trying to shop in public. Once I found the woman of my dreams I was no longer afraid, embarrassed (usually) or anything else that's negative. My life rocks so far 8)

Any place that is loud and full of people and lights is a torture for me. I get dizzy, I get blurred vision, start shaking and trembling inside and experience serious sensory overload that often leads complete shutdown in shopping malls. I avoid them. If I have to I go, I go on Sunday morning when there are few people around. Otherwise, online shopping has been blessing for me.

I'd much rather be out hiking on biking away from the city and by myself.

I used to have this problem too. I could go to the counter without a mental script. I was jumpy as hell.
Put on headphones with calm familiar music. Shades if it doesn't look weird, pick the quite times if you can.
And try to get used to it if you can, the more familiar the expence becomes, the lower the anxiety, some of
the sensory stuff can become milder, it becomes easier in general.

I get anxious and sweaty - especially in clothes shops. Combined with offbeat body language, thinking out loud and tending to walk quite fast and purposefully straight to what I need - rather than a slow browsing pace, I worry that the shop staff will think I look suspicious, as though I'm shop-lifting. That additional anxiety only makes it worse!

It gets ten times more intense if a shop assistant asks if I need help. Sometimes I feel like saying, 'If I was able to get dressed this morning and get myself into town, surely I have all the skills I need to choose an item of clothing from a shelf and take it to the check out? Leave me alone!' But I wouldn't say that, because that would be unkind and seem sarcastic. I know they're just trying to help and do what they're trained to do in their job.

That's me too. My shopping strategy is similar to uh... commando action: in and out quickly, straight to the target and with minimal loses

I know what I want and I'm not interested in anything else. I don't browse and I don't impulse buy, I plan what I want to buy, I get that and exfiltrate promptly from the enemy territory.
