I am going for diagnosis in a couple of weeks, what do they ask you? Do they ask you to do a test, or just explain symptoms.

They'll probably make both IQ-tests, neurological tests and ask you questions about your life. Nothing that hurts, but it can be a little tough.

Definately mentally draining though so make sure to get a good nights sleep.

The tests they gave me was a personality test, and a bunch of "learning" tests. What it gave them was my "Cognitive profile." My father went with me and he filled out some information which ended up going into a couple of Asperger's scales, and a autism scale.

It was draining. The specifics doubtlessly very from doctor to doctor.

My experience seems to be very different from what others have experienced......maybe he really think I am schizo and is just trying to "humor the nut case"....Its getting a bit frustrating.....So far,I have had three apts for 30 min and he just askes me questions following the "psyc guidelines" in which I am supposed to remember what I was like as a child(and I dont)so,its driving me batty.I did tell him I have problems with the "arbitrary" nature of most "tests" but this method is no easier for me.I would much prefer taking a learning test or something....maybe that will come later....I have two more apts this week,so hopefully I will get up the nerve to ask him how long this process is going to take.

Good luck on your apt....please let us know how it goes....

They ask loads of questions about you're childhood.
