Yes, those are some great pictures of Asparval's garden. I'm thinking of those balmy summer days already, yet it's snowing outside.
I like to spend time in my garden, though I wouldn't say I'm much of a gardener. Most of it is planted with trees, shrubs and lawn, but I usually play around with different things in the borders each year. Currently, there are snowdrops, crocus, daffodils and primroses flowering. Also, and taking pride of place, a cherry tree with beautiful pink blossom. Outside my patio doors I have pots with yellow pansies.
As for stuff to eat, I have three large pots (about 2' dia) which I plant with runner beans each year. I keep these fed with tomato feed during the summer which provides a good crop to freeze down for use during the winter. I've grown tomatoes in the greenhouse, but I'm not a great tomato fan so this year I've a slightly different plan. I'm thinking about trying sweetcorn in there... yeah, I know they're wind pollinated but I reckon if I keep a flow of air through there and give them a good shake now and then it might work.
One other thing I like about having a garden are the 'infrastructure' projects... you know: paths, fences, ponds. A few years ago a large ash tree came down in a storm; now, there's a nice spot for a pond, but that'll be another story.
