I suspect that I often don't know when I'm under stress, and I was wondering if anybody had any idea whether there are any telltale physical signs of it. I've noticed insomnia, fidgeting (stimming), tendency to lose temper. Any more?

This is a timely topic for me. I'm realizing that I can really underestimate my stress level, until I suddenly get to the point that I have a meltdown. And I'm surprised to realize how stressed I am because sometimes I thought I was doing okay.

I start talking faster under stress, like in a pressured way. I get more uncoordinated and klutzy than usual, dropping things or knocking things down or just tripping on my own feet. The way I move my body gets sort of jerky and erratic. Like instead of just reaching for something, my arm goes swinging out wildly like it has a mind of its own.

Thanks. Another way I suspect talking can be affected is slurred speech, but I don't know if anybody else has found that a good marker for stress. Occasionally people have wound me up with their words and when I've replied, my sentences come out muddled and sometimes unintelligible.

Yeah I get slurred speech too, but don't know if it has to do with stress. Sometimes I just have a day like there, where I feel like I can't talk properly.

It's when people tell me I'm emotional or angry, and I tell them I'm not, just stressed. If no one tells you when you look stressed, you should ask them.

I get nausea when I'm under stress, and also palpitations. But I don't generally get many physical symptoms - I seem to get more emotional symptoms, like anger and depression.

I talk quickly and become fidgety, emotional, and a little impatient.

When stressed, I stop speaking. When I don't speak to respond to direct addresses, stressed.

i start stimming a lot more then usual, and my interpersonal skills revert to their basic levels; if i'd be in a bus or something, i'd greet the driver as if it was my long-lost brother, becouse i learned to be friendly to them and stress made me lose moderation...
