i am 30 years old. I have a always felt different then most people, i thought it had something to do with the fact i was of mixed race black/white and maybe that made me more stand offish. I am an atheist and doing some research i found that alot of autistic people are atheists. So i dug a little deeper and i saw many characterists of me that match autistic people. I had ear infections bad when i was young also my mom told me i lined up my toys. I cant eat dairy products and have always had minor stomach problems. I always struggled with school except for math. its the only subject i found interesting and i seem to understand numbers better than most. I have terrible hand writing. I have always had friends and dont seem to have problems socializing with them, but i can cut them off very easily if they upset me in anyway.. I dont like going to clubs and bars for long periods of time. 1 hour is all i can take in a crowded atmosphere.

I saw a characteristic called lack of theory of mind which it said autistic people cant handle when someone else doesnt know something. I think i have that problem, i never understand why people dont seem as smart as me. Also that austistic people dont like things moved. I get mad when something isnt were i left it. I read that autistics struggle with fiction. I have never been able to read fiction my whole life. Reason for struggles in english class because every book is fiction for the most part. If its a movie or book that invlolves anything not based in the real world i dont like it except science fiction but that is based in a future real world. Have had sleep problems my whole life, can never seem to fall asleep like most people. I have to be completely exhausted to lay down and fall asleep in 10 minutes like most. I never had any trouble speaking though. I also always liked to collect things like sports cards and world currency. All these characteristics cant be a coincidence. I would like some feedback about what you think.

It might also be a personality disorder. I would look into it though, just to be sure.

And realize that no one is really a text-book case of autism. It's very rare when that actually happens.

The theory-of-mind thing you were talking about actually applies to social situations, not to emotional situations. Those are pretty easy to pick apart.

I hope this helped. Good luck. :)

Truthfully, it doesn't sound like you're on the spectrum from this post.

Mostly it sounds like you're an introvert.

A lot of those sound like textbook Asperger's symptoms to me but I'm not a doctor.

Welcome to WP and hope you'll find what you're looking for :)
I suggest you consult the general googleable DSM criteria and research a bit more into it.
Also bear in mind that social impairments are part of autism.
