My gripes at ASpartners PT 2
My wife and I were having problems with one of the attachments to our vaccum cleaner. The attachment was the device in which it had bristles on a roller and the suction of the vaccum made it spin. It would not spin. I did drop the thing a few backs. Clumsy me. The part in which you connected the hose to had cracks. We both thought at first the attachment was not getting enough suction. I came up with an idea to wrap some electrical tape around the cracks. My wife did not want to do that though. She wanted to buy a new vaccum cleaner. She thought it would look ghetto and she wanted something that was fully functioning. With the electrical tape I would've made it work. She wanted me to problem solve. She is always complaining about my problem solving skills so I came up with a solution. Anyway, my rational is this. Why would we spend 100s of dollars to buy a new a vaccum cleaner if we could use electrical tape and the vaccum will work just as well?
Here is another incident that happened. My wife and I have a garden. I used her kitchen shears which are ginsu by the way. We have ginsu knives as well. I left them out in the garden for about a day or two. I used them to open bags of mushroom compost to enrich our soil. She became upset and kept droaning on about it. She was complaining that 1. they would become dirty and 2. they would become rusty. Yes, it was my fault I forgot to bring them in and I should've brought them in. For number 1, we can put them in the dishwasher, put some dish detergent in the dishwasher, and they will be clean. The heat from the dishwasher will more than likely kill any germs. What was the freaking big deal. For number 2, I don't think metal will rust over 2 days. If I'm wrong on this please correct me on this. She then would have a point about leaving it out there but not my using them. If I am correct two days outside will not hurt the kitchen shears.
I have used her ginsu knives to break down boxes before. They cut the boxes so well in my opinion. Why would I not use them? She says they would become dull. This may be true but eventually they will become dull after cutting food for a period of time. If they did become dull are there ways to resharpen them? Again, what's the big deal? It just seems like she becomes upset over nothing. I don't understand this at all. I wish the women at aspartners at delphi.com would come and explain.

How long have you been married? I'm laughing. You are bickering, many married couples bicker.
There is an old joke about a successful marriage, learn to say, 'yes dear you are right'....
Use that phrase if you want to end the bickering. It is very useful.
Do not say it sarcastically, just calmly and then move on and get on with your day.
Life is too short to be arguing about correct use and care of knives.
Though, I was taught by my mother to NEVER use her fabric shears on anything else, even cutting paper would dull them.
Good luck with the marriage wars. My husband and I can even laugh now, when one of our favorite, don't do it that way, do it my way, arguments come up.
Which is still regularly and often but at least I recognize them for what they are and most of the time can stop them short.
