Objectum Sexuality-orientation or paraphilia?

I’m not here to attack anyone or their sexuality; I’m here to try to understand what is going through our heads to make us become attracted to objects. I know many of you just can’t believe that a person can fall in love with an object. I do believe it is an attraction rather than a choice, because if it was a choice I would sure be in a human relationship with a man. Is objectum sexuality a condition for us with mental issues? I, being more specifically a mechaphile, am beginning to believe it is a condition rather than an orientation.

In the past few months as I learn more about my own OS and having autism and am bipolar, I'm beginning to see objectum sexuality as a paraphilia. The reason I'm changing my mind about OS being an orientation is because we all have some sort of a mental condition, whether it's Aspergers, Autism, ADHD, bipolar or other issues and whether it’s mild, everything in-between or severe.

Here is a list of all of the paraphilias, with many of them hurting other people, others just downright sick and yet others such as Agalmatophilia (a love for statues and mannequins) such as in the case of Amanda Liberty). I'm surprise that I didn't see mechaphilia in the list since it is a love of cars, factory machines and heavy equipment to name a few.

What do you all think? Do you think objectum sexuality is an orientation or a paraphilia, given the circumstances? Do you think objectum sexuality should be in this list even though this list has objects in it? Amy Marsh commented that more research needs to be done. I must point out that while Erika Eiffel wasn’t diagnosed with Aspergers or Autism, she was discharged from the Air force after refusing to give up her sword love when she defended herself with it against an attacker. So she was discharged for psychological reasons.

It seems like there would be some overlap. Especially if the paraphilia is a material that is worn by a person or their partner.

If "paraphilia" is defined as "a non-normative sexual interest", then sure, objectum sexuality is a paraphilia, because you're attracted to something other than another human being.

The real question here is whether "paraphilia" of this sort is truly pathological. If it doesn't hurt you and doesn't hurt anyone else, you just can't categorize it as pathological. Unusual? Sure. But plenty of things are unusual without being enough of a source of trouble to be worth a psychologist's attention.
