I don't have "autism toys"

However, if you must know, I once spent an an entire Thanksgiving party obsessively fiddling with this thing

Image

You start with the ball off of the tee and attempt to flip it onto the tee. I thought this would be a piece of cake, as I'm a master at this thing..a Mexican balero

The object of which is to flip the barrel, which has a small hole in the end, onto the stick.

But apparently the two are not the same beast :x

I don't know what you mean by "autism toy" but I have specific random types of objects I stim off of or play with such as stress balls, a stress squid, mini-textured worms that I think are for toddlers, Slinkys, pillows etc.

My little orange rubber stress ball, that I call my Mick ball that I sleep with from time to time. I don't squeeze it. I hug it instead.

I have a Neocube, which is just a package of 216 small ball magnets. I like to fiddle with it by pulling the magnets apart and stuff, and sometimes make shapes, like a heart, a ball, a cube, and stuff. :D

things created for the purpose of stimming or keeping your hand/mind busy. you will find many if you google autism toys. i think most of them are adult versions of childrens toys and some are just toys that are recomended to fill the role of feeding whatever sensory desires one might have because of their autism. we order from smartbraintoys because we were told it would be helpful to supply my step-son with toys that would help with his sensory issues. most of the toys are enjoyed by all the kids and some by us adults as well. could be anything neat though really, like silly putty or those magnetic shape makers, ect.

at our house we have a perplexus which is a hit, we also have plasma balls and some thing called a tangle. i think those are the top three along with a light up eyeball ball we got at the dollar store.

Was going to post that too! Got them (well, different brand) for Christmas, and it's amazing. They're not like any other thing I've encountered - they can feel like pebbles, rope, beaded mat, rubber band, velcro, regular magnets, clips, clay depending on what state they're in, but they're very different from all of those. They have a life of their own, loving the company of the other balls but only in specific patterns - hexagonal is best but square is ok, holes are bad but can be endured. If they don't like the shape they'll move to a better one - I made a Sierpinski triangle that imploded the moment I tried to pick it up. There's a crazy amount of possible shapes for them, I've yet to make the same figure twice (disregarding basic shapes like hexagons or triangles that the bigger ones are made of).
