Occupational Therapists

I live in the UK and I am under a CMHT (Community Mental Health Team) for my psychotic disorder. Currently I see a psychiatric nurse once a fortnight and I see my psychiatrist when I need to.

I will be referred to an Occupational Therapist to help with my autism-related difficulties.

Has anyone else been referred to Occupational Therapy for autism and has it helped you?

Can I ask, were you diagnosed with a normal psychiatrist at your CMHT?

I see a psychiatrist every few months at my CMHT anyway because of my BPD diagnosis, but I wanna ask my new psychiatrist about possible mild Aspergers to the mix. Never met her before, she'll be my new psychiatrist replacement, they get turned over like every 9 months so this is my 3rd psychiatrist, don't know if she knows much about AS, but I was just wondering how you got diagnosed?

Most don't. You need to find one who specializes in developmental disorders or in Autism.
