i know this question's been asked before, but the topic is long dead, so... does anyone know if add/adhd meds might help control stimming at all?
i don't mind stimming, usually, but lately my stims have become self-harming, and i just really want a way to control them, and, with any luck, the anxiety that causes me to stim in the first place.
any suggestions, as far as medication that might help with stimming, or something else that might help with anxiety?

You need to go back to your psychiatrist and tell them about the self-harming. It is not healthy, and I'd be a hypocrite for saying it because I also do, but I'm getting help.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a stim, but can you at least try to do something else to replace that certain stim?

thank you for your input.
i have an appointment in few weeks, but i can't afford to go before then.
i've found that i can't really control my stims, unfortunately... they still serve to relieve stress, but my body just moves however it wants to, which leads to me thrashing around, and now, frequently leads to me scratching or biting myself...
in any case, until i can speak with my psychiatrist, i'll attempt to control my stims, but in the meantime... are there any medications i could ask about that might help as well?

There aren't any medications that will help control your urge to self-harm. As a stim, I don't know of anything.
All you'll have to do is ask the psychiatrist.
Good luck.
