I found it weird that most NT's care so much about their appearance, do they have their body in the head all the time? I think It's really awkward, atleast for me.

I think they're aware of other people all the time, which makes them a bit paranoid.

I think they're paranoid about their looks.

I don't know about other NTs but I have my body in my head at all times. It doesn't feel awkward. It's mostly spatial awareness- an awareness of where in space my different body parts are and how I feel.

NTs communicate with others by using their looks. Clothing, makeup, hairstyles, and such can be used as signals. Some do this more than others. There are some who do it very little, others who spend a lot of time on it.

I'm aware of myself all the time but only because I'm afraid people are judging me and I'm insecure about my weight. left to myself I wear the same clothes repeatedly for as long as they don't smell bad. this is somewhat embarrassing to admit but there have been weeks at a time where I wore the same thing every single day. I think I'm wearing one of about 3 shirts in every picture of me on facebook.

I really like the old "plain folk" (I'm from PA and grew up around peace churches) idea that fashion is primarily designed to showcase social inequality and make statements about wealth and power, so deliberately wearing the simplest, almost uniform-like thing every day over and over was the ethical thing to do. I can't afford it yet, but when I can I'm pretty sure I'm switching to a home-made uniform like Amish men wear. I figure I can get away with it if people think it's a religious thing (though I'm a Buddhist, haha)

I like to wear the same jeans all week. I have like 5 shirts I rotate through.

I'd wear the same jeans for a month if my mother let me
it's not like you sweat on your legs that much.. and I barely sweat anyway
I can see why some people might find it disgusting and I try to change at least every two weeks
but personally it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable...

yeah, I only own one pair of shorts, which I wear all summer. I just wear PJs when they need to be washed, though I honestly don't do that all that frequently. I change shirts when I have to see the same people 2 days in a row or when there are stains on them, and for pretty much no other reason. I have one pair of flip flops, one pair of tennis shoes, and one semi-formal pair of shoes. that's all. *shrug*

my parents and friends have joked about burning one hoodie I've worn every day it's cold enough for nearly 10 years. I think someone may have stolen it from me because I don't know where it is, which kind of sucks, but yeah...I really don't see the point of changing your clothes out all the time.

NTs are simply not aware of everyone all the time. In fact, they are relatively clueless about anything around them that isn't interesting... I swear if I didn't walk mindfully down the street I'd get bumped into all the time... they wait til the last second to move then do the 'shoulder sweep' crap on me if I challenge their position on the sidewalk. Add to that I never really can predict where someone will move for me or if they won't (I'm female and you'd think men would move for me but it's about 50/50) so I tend to lurch and shuffle along instead of walk confidently.

There are so many times that I'm out and about and people are very ignorant of me (maybe I don't project my ego-aura... s**t I don't have one to begin with... rather just hide in a shadow and hope no one actually looks at me).

I'm sure it's something to do with body language, since I can't figure it out.

NTs are very varied.

You know what they say...when you've met one NT, you've met one NT.

Edit to add: You can possibly say the average NT is probably more concerned with dress and appearance than the average autie or aspie, but there are undoubtedly NTs who care less than most aspies and aspies who care more than most NTs.

This! As an aside...a close friend of mine with AS is obsessed with her looks to the point where makeup is one of her special interests.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

Wow this is really freakin stupid in my opinion, obsessed with one self. Another reason why I hate most of NT's.

Most NTs are not obsessed with themselves. Some are, as are some autistics.
