One time, when I was in middle school, I was at a school dance. This was because I was on leadership and was helping out. (I was by no means outgoing, but I was a good worker and I did listen to my elders so my teacher did like me. I lead by example).

I might have not gone if I had known most of the night they would be playing descriptively vulgar songs and the only dancing that would happen would be grinding on one another.

I only danced to a few songs like slide and macrena and perhaps green day because that is rock and no one grinds to that.

So most of the time I sat in the bleachers of the gym awkwardly, or tried to help teachers whenever I could. (I should mention for some reason I liked hanging out with adults). Some kids I barely knew thought it would be fun to come up to me and say. "You should go outside!" "Yeah, you should go outside!" Its seemed like they wanted to see what I was going to do. I told them I didn't want to and that was the end of that but that was my first experience I remember of feeling tested, and probably teased.
