Yeah I'm really getting the urge to wanna me some aspergians, I'm decided to start volunteering at autism help center. However they seem to only have meets for aspies once a month.

Do you know of any way to meet up with other aspies.

Why?

Also, this is a very general question. Details would help, perhaps where you are country/state-wise. What you hope to gain from these meetings. Not to mention as I've stated above why.

I'd very much like to get something like this going on the south side of Houston, maybe twice a month to start with.

Activate spergervision. The awkwardness in social situations can be detected in a certain kind of body language pattern universal to most, if not all Aspies.

It would help if you said where you lived. If you live outside a large city, it may not be the easiest thing in the world to ask. Have you tried looking through the Internet? If you're outside the UK/US, perhaps there are local Asperger's forums in a different language? Have you tried searching for meet-ups and autism groups in your state, county, region or country via Google?

It's hard to see how we can be of help unless you give us more to go on.

I had a last minute plan to go to a museum last weekend...too last minute to post here for a meetup...but it did cross my mind that something like that would be ideal for meeting other people with AS. As I walked through the museum I was thinking over how it could be done. You would have to give enough lead time, and everybody would have to be able to find and ID each other somehow at a specific entrance or location. It might be best to ID us visually, with a Wrong Planet t-shirt or something, since not all of us seem to like/use cell phones.
I may be generally quiet, but I'm not shy. I don't mind meeting other people who have this.
