I hate passing through people's wake.

I have a sensitive nose. People often wear smelly perfume or colognes, or just smell plain bad to me. I can't stand the smell of speed stick deodorant. When someone goes by me, and the trail of odor following them washes over me, I usually try to hold my breath. This is hard to do in large crowds. I can get almost panicky/mad about it. Anyone relate to this?

Yes...totally.

Different smells for me. But I can relate. I hate it. It drives me insane... almost literally because I obsess over how to avoid it and so on.

Speed Stick and Old Spice contributed to the demise of my first marriage. I'd rather smell BO than Speed Stick.

Totally agree, although I don't usually mind cologne or perfume, unless it's attached to what appears to be a very strange, haggard person....I mostly avoid other people's wake's due to the air they exhale. Seriously hate the idea of breathing in air they've breathed, despite the fact that it I'm aware I more than likely do it all the time, everywhere I go. I guess stuff gets serious when I can recognize the person it's coming from.

The worst thing for me is the smell of unwashed, sweaty people that don't like to change their clothes. Especially when I'm surrounded by them.

I was once sleeping on the bus when I suddenly woke up because I smelt very strong fruity perfume.
