Are you good at putting things into words?

I have a client who keeps asking me to explain things to them over the phone and I find it really difficult. I would rather email him with the info because it would give me time to think about how to explain it. It's not that I don't know the subject, it's just hard to explain, it's hard to get the wordless idea out of my head and into words. I could perform the task much quicker if I did it myself, without thinking, but putting it into words is like i'm clawing words out from my brain and trying to put them in coherant order, like i'm swimming through fudge.

I hate meetings for this reason also. I can't think of things to say unless someone else is leading the direction of the conversation. I feel stupid, but I'm not stupid, I do know this information, I just take a while to work out how it all fits together with what the other person is saying. Hours later I realise what I could have said and what I could of asked when I am performing the task that we met to discuss. Then I have to get back in contact to re-discuss the same thing we already discussed, but getting the vital info I should have asked for in the first place. Argh!

I'm just feeling a bit frustrated by this today. Maybe I want to convey too much information and all of the words get stuck in the bottleneck that is my mouth.

Yes, I have trouble with this, which is why I don't tend to say much.

Depends. If I must talk about something I like or my interests (for example algebra, geology, astronomy, and symilar) it's not difficult, at all. But if I must talk about other things, how I feel, etc., I have a lot of troubles doing it.

Yes. That's why I prefer to email. It exasperates my mom a lot because sometimes when she's asking me something, especially something like why I am upset, I have a hard time putting it into words.

I can identify with this also. I could never interact at meetings. And it seems that no one ever extpected me to.

Yes, I definitely have trouble with this. I can almost never actually say things the way I want to, tends to be nigh useless for me to try to plan what to say before I say it since once I start talking I can't say it anything like I wanted to at all, I forget words and which order to put them in and stutter and whatnot.

I am becoming more non-verbal as I get older. There just doesn't seem to be any point in struggling to put things into words when no one listens anyway.
