Kind people...

I recently saw this video and wanted to share it. It's about some actors that go to a restaurant and see how other people would react to autistic behavior. Tell me what you all think. NOTE: The guy complaining is an actor to see how others would react once someone starts complaining.

This is the 3rd topic I've read on this forum about this particular video, wherein the original poster asks what we think about it.
OK, I'll bite. Here's what I think about, it's much ado about nothing. It's actors making a scene in a restaurant and all the NTs behave just as most NTs do; they graciously tolerate the "misbehavior" of the ersatz Aspie boy. This comes as no surprise to me; it reflects what I have experienced and observed.
The only thing about this film that surprises me is that the CDC released it, because it illustrates that people, in general, tend to be patient and tolerant of differences. I guess it's advocating that we go on and keep doing as we are already doing.
Jaden, since you're one of the original posters of this often asked question and you're currently available to ask; why are you curious about what others think about this film? And what do you think about it?

I guess primarily I ask what others think of it because of the different elements in the video, like whether or not people are surprised that others in the video stood up to the "a-hole" actor, whether people think this would normally be the case, etc.
I don't have alot of experience with the public/mature people due to my agoraphobia, the majority of my interaction is online and I've been met with a lot of ignorance (which I guess has colored my perspective).
I guess I feel that this video has given me new hope for social interaction and the maturity of other people in regards to this sort of thing. And perhaps I'm not entirely right when it comes to other people being intolerant of obvious difference in others (though there will always be the few who are).

Yes, I think you can be hopeful. I totally agree with what you are saying here. I think that there are a lot of disgruntled folks posting online and perhaps that don't accurately reflect the attitudes of folks at large. And, yes there are some intolerant folks one might run into on the outside, but they are in the distinct minority. As to reacting to them, I say; scroll and roll.
