My three year old son is now diagnosed with Autism. We are still learning where on the spectrum he is. He is mostly non verbal saying only about 6 to 10 words. He is pretty energetic and curious which in many cases gets him into dangerous situations. I am an American living in Sweden so it is really hard to find help where they want to speak english with me, we live in a very small community which does not seem to have many up to date professional help for autistic children. Often they tell my swedish husband all the important information and expect him to relay it all to me. My husband is also being tested for Autism because he portrays many autistic traits and the big responsibility of all our sons information put upon him doesn't work well, I am looking for new ways to benefit of our families ability to help our son.
I also have three forms of severe migraines which also limits my ability to give Loki my very best attention, in this I am terrified of the thought he will not have the best he deserves. How can I be a good mother with my chronic headaches, financial problems, lack of energy and depression? How can I give him what he deserves?
He is my life, the closest most beautiful thing in my world. I am so confused where to start and how to teach an three year old Autistic brilliant little boy to make his life better. And in my case how do I find the energy with all the pain. I am truly truly lost..
