hi,
does anyone have a good way to get over obsessions? I know obsessions are a hallmark trait of aspergers and its fine. But this obsession i have is sort of unhealthy and i want to kill it but i cant.

If you don't mind my asking, what is the interest you'd like to get rid of, and why is it unhealthy?

Ah ... I've experienced the exact same problem with another guy before. I don't think there is an easy way out, so all I can suggest is deliberately forcing your mind onto other subjects, and trying to rationalise things.

In my case, it just faded away over time, and I'm friends with the person now. It may just be a matter of time. I'm sorry I couldn't give you an immediate solution.

My therapist(s) said that replacing it with another obsession will work

Kittycommand0r, I did the same thing. I used to be obsessed with serial killers, but I replaced it with butterflies. Peopel aren't scared of me any more. ^-^
