This is a poll about patterns of friendship...

Aside from immediate family, anywhere from none to about three... but probably one, on average. And even then, I'd lose touch with them if they didn't continue to contact me. But I would associate with other acquaintances if I ran into them while I was out.

I have close friends, what I lack is a casual group of friends that I can see from time to time.

I have had friends that would hang with me, often it was for their benefit. That is the way the world works and I accepted when it was not to my own benefit, I am easily swayed.

It has been a few years since I have had a friend, I am getting older and not so much to offer in trade anymore. Good thing I had three children, one of them visits almost daily.

There is no option for lots of casual friends/quasi-acquaintances and no close friends at all ever. Or maybe once or twice.

I voted more than one friend because many aspie's (and NT's) definition of friend is typically looser than what I would count as a friend.

According to myself, I have no friends.

I had at least one friend from pre school. I had two best friends in my early childhood and when I was three, I was friends with an older girl who lived across the street. She always came over and hung out and I liked hanging out with her and would follow her around. I was friends with a bunch of kids in my special ed room. I had some friends in elementary school. I even had friends that lasted one school year and then all of a sudden we weren't anymore because we didn't hang out due to not being in the same class. They made other friends and hung out with them instead of with me. I have not had a friend since high school and it was with a boy who was seven years younger than me. Last time I had a friend my own age was in junior high and it was with another girl who was a year and a half younger than me and she didn't have any friends either so we got along fine and we played video games together or Barbies and would dress my brother's cat up in my doll outfits just to get my little brother all upset.
