Have any women (or men?) here tried using corsets to help relax?

So I was pretty surprised to learn about corsets being used for waist training. Digging a little deeper, I found this person link autism to corsets by citing the benefits of deep pressure. The link is --->here<--- if you're interested.

Can anyone relate to this? I'm pretty curious. It's a smart idea. I wonder if it's worked for people.

To the misses in the vid " I'd give you some deep pressure".

After a while the ribbing pokes into my sides and it gets quite irritating, but spandex under regular clothes is a nice feeling

I'd do it (in private or in certain bars in Austin lol). It sounds like something good for ASD - that area is a good one for deep pressure. Funny idea

It seems like it might be a good idea for some people, but I'd rather go with the spandex idea.

I have one corset-like bra for wearing with sleeveless dresses and stuff and I find it to be rather uncomfortable because it doesn't let me slouch over once I get tired of being straight, ha ha. I guess that's a good thing for being out in public all dressed up when the occasion arises... but I just think it's a bit more tiring in general since you don't feel you can relax (it digs into the waist if you aren't perfectly upright).

I also find it kind of unnatural how small the woman in that site's waist is. I've seen diagrams of what happens to people's internal organs when they wear corsets for too long and too tight.. and it doesn't seem very healthy.

I like to wear corsets and tight clothes sometimes. But mostly I prefer moving with ease. That stuff is more for if I'm in the mood to look attractive. I hold in all of my repetitive behaviors and unsaid annoyances all day long. So by the time I get free, I just want to feel comfortable. Soft clothes and pleasant surroundings ease my stress. Other days I need to run it out until all the bad feelings are gone.

Interesting. I have a thing about waistcoats (edit: vests if you're American) and I always get a size which fits snugly because I enjoy the feeling when they are tight-fitting - I never connected that with the autistic enjoyment of pressure before, but now I see this thread it's kind of "duh". Possibly a more male-friendly option, though I doubt they do the job as well!

I don't like other tight clothes very much, so I think it's a thing specific to the torso area for me.

I love wearing corsets - if they fit well, of course :-) I like the 'hugging' feeling. But if the corset has a bad shape, it can be a nightmare to wear.

I have some wonderful corsets from Metamorph

Besides the spandex, this thread reminds me of how I've always liked backpacks - the pressure against the spine and from the shoulder straps does a lot in that regard, in middle and high school I must have been commiting a faux pas by wearing them everywhere except seated in class, from the amount of grief people gave me. Anyway I had a really nice one a few years back that even had a waist strap, it was probably the closest thing to a diaper for my upper body.

Never thought of that, but I do love the feeling of corsets and love deep pressure of any kind. :)

Hello,
This definitely helps for me, even a sense of compression around the body seems to define where I am in the world.
It reminds me where the boundary is, otherwise I feel that I inhabit a vacuum.
I discovered this when I started to wear a back support for work so very similar in shape to a corset.

I've never tried corset, but I have at times (when I'm home and alone) used tight T-shirt or multiple layers of clothing to get the same effect, and that feels good.
Edit: I can only take it so long though, before I feel crushed and have to wear normal clothes again. I'm not generally okay with tight, just when I feel like it.

I've also used a bag full of books to get the sensation of deep pressure.

They make special clothes for this. I wouldn't want to wear a corset not just because I'm a guy.
