Abnormalities of melanin in autism

I've read information about this recently, and apparently clinicians sometimes use a UV light to examine the skin of people being assessed for autism, as skin irregularities show up this way.

Very interesting. This may explain the odd skin pigmentation I've had, but that's much more obvious on my twin brothers' forearms - especially when tanned. The only way to really describe it is that even when squeaky clean there are darker blotches that basically just look like dirt, and they're more pronounced when tanned in the summer. IF that is what this is talking about.

I have darker pigmentation around my neck, my mum used to tell me it was dirt, but I've always scrubbed my neck vigorously (probably too vigorously actually). Might be related to this thread, not too sure what

means in practical terms however, so I couldn't say.

i'm not sure, but my pigmentation appears to be different from that of my peers.
i don't seem to tan at all, but i dont loose tan in the winter either; i'm always slightly tanned which doesn't change after either a year in long sleeves/pants or a year in only a bermuda walking in the sun, you will therefor find little to no tan-lines on me, as i always have my skins basic colour.
