I still have literally no confidence and have no idea what I'm good at it.

Nowadays I'm getting paranoid if people are reading ahead up on my favourite subject (physics). I also felt bad about myself and started crying when I didn't solve this one question correctly on the board. I'm an A* student generally, but I believe the GCSE exams are too easy, so they don't really tell much about my ability.
Should I just try and focus on what I like and I'm good at and use those abilities for the greater good?

Why am I feeling like this and how can I stop? People say I'm smart, but I really don't believe it.

I used to have a conselor in high school, and I think they might help if you ask the right type of questions. It is good to ask teachers and people around that might have some better understanding of physics and the application of knowledge regarding physics. Also it is good to research a bit about job market and about what type of skills are most important.
It is well invested time.

For me, coping with anxieties is an inside job. While it is likely that I also need to make some behavior changes or make some different choices, I can rarely do so effectively while my thinking is clouded with anxiety. Finding something (a philosophy or other belief system) or someone (a counselor or friend) in whom to place some trust helps me greatly.

That's not a medical option for the moment. You have to stop fearing your angst, it's only self-perpetuating.
