Getting Really Frustrated
Sorry, I'm new to this board and what I'm about to ask is I'm sure a regular topic. Be gentle
My psychologist has referred me for a AS diagnosis. I know it can take a long time but this week I'm feeling really frustrated. Been a bit more on edge. It's only been 2 months or so.
I'm beginning to doubt myself over this. I'm not looking for anyone to diagnose me on here, however below is a list of some of my traits and wondered if anyone spotted anything that could possibly indicate I do not have AS? Please tell me if I am being daft!
I'm a 40 yo male, married with kids. Don't plan to start coming on here and being all about me but just trying make a wee bit of sense of myself at the moment.
Prefer own company
Hate greatly social occasions of all kinds
Notice small sounds
Difficulty with conversations
Struggle to multi task
Have problems with being touched, even by my wife
Avoid people
Like to be organised
Switch off when people are talking to me
Bad mood swings
Dislike certain noises
Poor short term memory
One thing I am not sure about is sometimes, mostly at work, I can feel a bit over confident and can feel as though I'm being mouthy. That isn't my normal persona.
If you've got to the bottom of this thanks!

Have you had all of these symptoms since you were a child, or just recently? If you had, then why did your parents never sent you to any psychologists if they ever suspected that you had AS? Though I'm not a psychologist, those symptoms all sound like AS traits. Or if you have been having these problems recently, then you must have a mental illness.
I would say thinking back I have had these symptoms but have worked hard to hide/forget them. Always just put it down to shyness. I don't think my parents would have been fully aware. Indeed looking at things now if I was to be diagnosed with AS then I would have to say my dad and his mother were/are definitely. I see so much in my dad. He wouldn't entertain any discussion about the topic.
I have been feeling increasingly worse over the last few months. I have been putting it down to no longer really fighting things but instead being more accepting of the issues I have. The problem I now worry about is if it isn't AS then what is my problem.
