In my years here on WP, I've noticed a trend of discussions towards some sort of fictional "Right Planet", often a fictional planet, nation, island, or city, sometimes an online environment of some type. For a recent example, I have attached the below link.

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt235431.html

There is nothing wrong with discussing dreams and fictional environments, often some of the greatest ideas in our history come from such thoughts. However, if someone wants a "Right Planet", then build one.

If you want to encourage Neurodiversity in our daily lives, set up a blog or a YouTube channel.
If you want an online media site ("Second Life"), look into software requirements.
If you want an island, look into skills to work on an island.
Etc, Etc.

Same although my concept is more about advocating all the time just like any other minority would such as the LGBT community

AgentPalpatine, I agree. Building a "right planet" begins with building ourselves. My guess is that insofar as this happens, each aspie will have his or her own "right planet".

We are.
We're eyeballing Rotuma as a possible RL geographical location.

Could probably pick it up for a few billion, has a small but usable airport, a deep water dock, and a very small indigenous population (that's trying to leave), and a workable land size.

I'm presuming from the fact of a deep water dock that at least parts of it have a geological substructure that could support highrise building which would help increase the population density without as adversely affecting the quality of the land.

Leasing an older US nuclear vessel with a US operations crew may be a viable option for obtaining high output electrical power for the island.

The only other major challenge would be defense. Equipment is merely a matter of money, loyal personnel is the main issue here.

I expect that it could eventually support a population of about a million if Oceanic Scaffolding Technology (I just made that up, cool huh?) could be adequately developed.

PS. maybe I took this "make your own Right Planet" too literally, talking about starting a country on an island.

It is kind of an odd concept really.

I'd settle for a peaceful reatreat now and then and just enjoying the good things in life from time to time :-)

If you want a peaceful retreat, run by and for Autistics/Aspies in the UK, then check out Autscape:
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt226674.html

Autscape 2013 will be next month, in a peaceful location near Leeds.
Autscape 2014 will be next year, in a peaceful location near Norwich.
Autscape 2015 dates and location are yet to be decided.

If you are anywhere in/near Europe, then Autscape shall do. (people come to Autscape from all over Europe and beyond).
If you are anywhere in America, than Autreat shall do. (people come to Autreat from all over America and beyond).

If you are somewhere else in the world, then perhaps start a local version of Autscape/Autreat ? :)

Sounds like a nightmare with all those high rise overpopulated buildings 8O
perfection to me would be an isolated cabin in the woods, not some overcrowded island!

Autscape 2013 is fully booked by now, so you can't come even if you want to.
A hundred and fifteen people have registered to come. This makes it the biggest Autscape ever!

I hope Autscape 2014 will be even bigger :) !

Do you know how much work it is to build a planet? http://www.orionsarm.com/eg-article/49a3ee435bd98
