Youtube arguments

Sorry at the moment I am very very obsessive about youtube arguments and debating with people on youtube. Since most of the comments seem to be either highly moronic, offensive, bitchy or uneducated, I spend a lot of my time correcting people. I know it is stupid since I could be spending my time in a much more constructive way but I cannot seem to help myself. I am like a neurotic moth to an argumentative flame. Anyway, I just got called an idiot by somebody who said that the myth of Horus is very similar to that of Jesus. This is an argument that gets presented alot when atheists are debating with theists and wish to disprove the notion of Jesus existing. Someone stated this claim and I said that Jesus had no mythological similarities with Horus and if they googled it they would find that Horus was not born on a virgin and in fact was conceived by Osiris who was married to Isis. Anyway, they said I was wrong even though a quick google search shows I am right and any orthodox egyptologist would tell you otherwise, however people like to believe Zeitgeist more than they do academics. Anyway, this obsession is beginning to irritate me as well as my girlfriend. It would good if someone either gave some advice, general wisdom or stated whether they agreed or disagreed with me assuming you have some knowledge of Egyptology. I was labelled as stupid and also a theist. I don't understand how disagreeing in regards to archaic mythology somehow makes me a theist. That seems highly moronic in itself.

Oh dear, I think I've been there (not about Horus, don't know about him).
Maybe if you find an alternative distraction. Do you have any hobbies? Maybe you can lock youtube from your computer (use that kid software).

There's this book I really love called For the Relief of Unbearable Urges. But separately from loving the book, I love the title because I tend to get some (what feel like anyway) unbearable urges. Playing with my hair sometimes drives me nuts, etc. I know just how you feel. I keep my hair really really short to give myself relief. I hope you get some too!

That's understandable, but youtube commenters are not worth your time as you have probably realized. I have used https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... hniapiiifn to hide comments and you can do that with adblock plus as well I think.

GET OUT BEFORE IT DRIVES YOU INSANE. I used to be like this with discussion threads. It will only mess up your mind. People get mean and nasty for no reason, refuse to believe things even if you provide incontrovertible proof, and randomly accuse you of believing things that you do not believe. Youtube is an especially bad place to do it. The problem is not that people are stupid, the problem is that they don't really care about knowing the truth. Aside from the commenters to whom everything is a big joke (they will call you names, say things that aren't true just to upset you), the semi-serious commenters have ulterior motivations for believing what they believe (often emotionally-based), and they assume that everyone else does as well; this is probably why you were accused of being a theist despite (I'm almost certain) you never having said anything that provides evidence of being a theist. A mind that just wants to get down to the truth is foreign to them. I've seen people do this on forums overrun by NTs so many times it would make you nauseous.

At least find a nice forum or some place where there are serious participants who will have an honest discussion with you. Even then, you'll likely find that people just don't take the issues as seriously as you do.

I can't even get Youtube comments up any more, on any Youtube videos I watch. Haven't been able to for a few months now. Just says ''comments currently unavailable''. I do miss being able to read the comments people put about a video.
