I have always seen visual static and have always had ringing in my ears.I didn't know that not everyone's ears ring all the time or that they don't always see visual snow. I didn't know there was such a thing called visual snow until i read that article just now. Guess it's not normal. Huh.

Amazing, I didn't even know there was such a condition until I read the article. I've apparently had visual snow for as long as I can remember - I thought there might be something that wasn't quite normal, but never got around to getting it looked at. I've always likened my vision to TV snow.

You mean that other people actually see the right hand scene?? I've had this snow all my life and thought that everyone else must too, never thought it wasn't normal.
Also, I sometimes get a 'snowscreen' in my mind - a sort of mind version of a very snowy tv picture. It happens when I am very anxious like when someone's put me on the spot to talk about feelings etc. I just cannot tune in to what I am feeling and all my speech just goes incoherent.
I get every once in a while a ringing in my ear/ears, does this mean I have tinnitus?
no that's normal I think. Tinnitus is constant. I may be wrong, however.
I think you are right about it being constant. I have hyperacute hearing, maybe that's whats causing the problem and not tinnitus. I have read, that you can't have both hyperacute hearing and tinnitus, is this true? does anyone suffer with both?

well i'm pretty sure it's normal for people to once and a while have their ears ring. People will frequently say "it was so loud my ears began to ring" to describe a loud noise. I don't think this phrase would be so common if ear ringing weren't something with which everyone could relate.

Wow... There seem to be a lot of Aspies that get Visual Snow around here; however, I don't think I am one of them. Sometimes, when I look at the sky, I can see slow-moving circles if it is a really bright day, but I was taught that this was normal and that the circles were in fact slight damage to the eye because of the brightness. But I've not experienced any of this "snow" or "flickering." Strange...
I dont have the visual issues but the "crickets in my ears" has gotten worse over the past few years.I spent many years standing drunk(supresses closing and protection of ear),standing in front of speaker by the stage of many punk-rock shows.....stupid?Yeah,but I had a great view of the bands playing.
