The "good" kind of strange
I've been reassured that I am the "good" kind of strange, and am in the process of accepting such data as genuine truth.
Of course, for some dull people there is no such thing as the "good" kind of strange, that all strange is strange and contemptible. Those people are a bunch of sheep, and the collective cloud of prejudice looming over society is their shepherd.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. When a friend of mine has said how she's "f****d up in the head" and "weird", I replied with "You're my favourite kind of weird, the good kind", and it's taken as a compliment, and in many aspects, very true.
There's always a positive and a negative towards a lot of definitions of words like "strange". It's just (like you said) how we live in such 'collective cloud of prejudice' that terms like 'weird', 'strange' and 'eccentric' are seen as negative qualities within a person, when this is not always the case.
Aspergers or no Aspergers, if you're an a***hole, you're an a***hole. Regardless of disability, (what's seen as) strange traits/qualities etc. it's the person's genuine personality that will either (and should) be accepted or rejected, after the person has made their own mind up about them, and not stuck to a prejudgemental disposition.
Indeed. There are so many people who are too lazy or don't care enough to even try to understand a little about me. I'm not hard to read, interact with or understand, it's just that for most people they're happy with their assumptions about the world and live within that limited view. Fortunately, there are many out there just as brilliant and strange as me-- I seek them out and find it easy to befriend them. These people are typically honest, sincere, forthright, kind, generous, thoughtful, helpful, interesting, smart, divergent in speech and thinking, problem solvers instead of creators, etc. They also tend to have volatile emotional states, quirks, sound effects (which annoy some people), and tendencies toward solemn and quiet if distressed.
Now.... if you've read above and see such gross generalizations as I do; even while still actually true.... just keep that in mind when generalizing Asperger's or any neurodevelopmental condition.
Edited to add: Also we're strange on a continuum that we did not create. To me, my behavior and self is not strange because there are so many others like me. That makes me pretty ordinary. But still, taken as a complement on the continuum, yes, it is great to be the good kind of strange. That means that you are not an a***hole.

This is the light I like to see myself in. I'm the good kind of strange and there's nothing about myself that I need to change or 'fix'. If people can't handle the good kind of strange that I am, they don't have to look at me. Not everybody can handle the good kind of strange, bit I can. The good kind of strange is the way I'm going to describe my AS from now on. ![]()

To be honest, I never use the words "strange" or "weird" about anything I perceive as positive. It's always negative. Sometimes things I find strange are things most see that way, sometimes it's not, and sometimes I don't see the same things as strange. But anything I perceive to be weird is negative.
And people who are weird in my eyes are people I'm don't want to deal with, same as people who are dull in my eyes, or clingy, or people I for what ever other reason don't like.
If anyone said I was the good kind of strange, I wouldn't talk to them anymore. Even if it was meant well and not meant to be a slight, I am better off without them.
