I know, I know... I haven't been here in forever! I just needed to take a break from some things. I was completely busy with school work, too, so that obviously wasn't helping! lol So has anything interesting happened when I was gone?

the cure
shall never come
for the only
way to change us
is brain surgery

even if
those vile men
made such
a thing
i would fight it

my welcome is but naught
a small
nugatory thing

(Translation: The only "cure" is brain surgery. Even if they made a "Cure" I would fight it. Welcome!)

Nope. No consolation prize either!

An award shall go to Aardvark, despite the dashes in between.

I'm picturing them running voltage through our heads to shoot the messages across. I love Vernon Smith saying he couldn't have hyperfocused as he did to win the Nobel if he was "cured." I'm thinking I like my brain the way it is. I like to hang out with it. I keep trying to find a NT I'd rather be, but I haven't found one yet. So, I guess I'll stay uncured.

Welcome back!

Welcome back Lightning88 (oh, I just got it1) ! !

As for a cure, now it's a gene the curebies say they've identified. Even IF they've found a gene, they have to find a way to keep it from 'expessing' itself. All in all, curebiesm running rampant ! !

As for the cure, the "best" thing I heard of was a regimin to mitigate symptoms.

BTW Lightning88, glad to see you back! The last thing I saw was a message from you asking about if AS was a type of autism, or not. That, with the good bad and ugly stuff here at the time made me think maybe you left. I was wondering about that just yesterday, in fact! Hey, I do that with a LOT of things. Some things just stick and even 4 decades later I may think about them again. I haven't been around 5 decades yet, so I can't say anything about that. I feel the same way about this site at times also, but luckily there is enough good stuff that I still like it.

Yeah, some of the topics were beginning to get pretty rough, like the politics one. I seriously cried a few times from some of the people's responses. I'm a very emotional person after all. Anyway, yeah, that was one of the reasons I left for a bit. But like I said, I was also very busy here as well. I had to finish up a ton of school work, I was busy working on a fanfic for fanfiction.net, and there was a bunch of family problems going on as well.
