Does anyone sleep in a specific position that gives you a relaxing kind of sensory input that soothes you to sleep? I do - for me, it's lying on my front with my left cheek against the pillow with my arms crossed over my chest, kind of like a downward-facing mummy. I once saw this holistic chiropractor who didn't really help that much who told me that sleeping like that would give me back problems, but I don't think he had sensory issues so he wouldn't have known how good sleeping like that feels.

Anyone else?

Curled up on the side, cuddling with the pillow.

I sleep on my side, with my head tilted forward and under, like a cat, and I hug a small pillow against my chest. I like to pull the covers all the way up to my chin and tuck both hands under my chin.

Haha, I thought I was the only one who sleeps face-down. Either that, or fetal position. (Then again I barely sleep at all, so I'm grateful for whatever works!)

I like sleeping on my back, under many layers of heavy blankets. 8)

No, but I listen to music that kind of vibrates my body. That's nice.

Sleep is all psychological for me. I'm not naturally comfortable in any one position for more than twenty minutes or so while awake. This means that I have to rocket my brain close enough to sleep to get into a state where I'm far enough from awake to get to sleep before I'm unbearably uncomfortable and have to move, waking myself up. >_>

I have two basic sleeping positions: either on my back with my right arm covering my eyes or on my stomach with my right cheek resting under the pillow and my left hand tucked under my chest. I like sleeping under lots of heavy blankets too, and tend to stim right before I fall asleep.

Sorta half on my tummy and half on my side with at least one arm under the pillow. And I have to have a fan on for white noise.

Firstly I have to have the right environment, so a double bed to myself (I do like a lot of space), TV on and playing a favourite DVD or Movie (usually set a timer so it switches off after I am asleep) and I must always have my tickle to rub in bed as well (a silky piece of material I also like to rub on and off throughout the day).

Once all that is correct then I like to sleep on my side usually facing the wall, often with one knee curled up and one leg straighter but with my foot close to or touching said wall.

I won't sleep on a bed that is in the middle of the room, I need my bed to be against a wall for some reason. I just don't like the feeling of floating in the middle of the room I guess (if that makes sense).

I also like to press/wriggle myself down into my mattress sometimes before going to sleep whilst lying on my front. I find the pressure of pushing myself down into said mattress soothing. I like it. Sometimes I just do it during the day to relax me. It's a nice sensation.

I am fussy with my sleep.

I also have to have at least 8 hours a day, but even when I do I will still sometimes need to nap. Sleepy soul here!

Oh and the bedsheets need to be of a soft material that does not wrinkle too much. The wrinkles in the sheets can create those lines in my skin if I accidentally lie on them which often feel sore and uncomfortable and I have to brush the bits out of the bed too if I can feel any otherwise I can't get comfortable and sleep over them. So smooth sheets with no bits.

Also I need to wrap myself in a duvet so no duvet hogs either...

I am not very romantic when sleeping. Even when I do have sexual partners I can tend to make them sleep on the couch or go home after sex. It depends if I don't mind having a bad nights sleep that night (once in a while it is ok just not on a regular basis).

Oh and no obvious springs in the mattress that I can feel...those just jab in me all night and hurt. So a good quality mattress is paramount.

A comfortable bed and things that I like to feel the textures of.

For a number of years I slept on my stomach. Now I start on my back and do some mental stuff to calm my mind. Then I end up going from side to side a lot.

I need it dark and quiet. My brother snores so I like using a fan, both to keep me cool and block out the noise. Sometimes earplugs aren't enough.
