Emotions seem to be odd things and now I wonder, with the way people talk about being happy or sad as though it's a very generalised thing, if others experience the same as I do.

I can be happy about one thing, but feel sadness over a different thing simultaneously.

So I may think about my loneliness and feel sad, yet at the same time I can think about playing piano and feel joy/happiness.

Do others just have one mood that is a constant state of mind? Because my emotions are more complex than that. Ergo I have a lot of trouble explaining them.

From what you know about your own emotions, can you relate to the above?

I think most people have mixed emotions all the time, with one being dominant over the others. Like yesterday I had lousy sleep, so I basically felt lousy. But at the same time the day itself was a good day. So I had a nice day and was happy about that, but at the same time I felt crummy. I think that would hold true for most anyone.
When someone asked me how I was doing I said, "lousy because I slept poorly". But I was also enjoying myself.

I've never been able to tell people how I'm feeling.

I think that if something makes me laugh then I must be happy, and if something makes me cry then I must be sad.

Most of the time I don't really feel anything, or nothing that I could pinpoint and put down to a specific emotion.
