OK, so I'm supposed to take a shower every morning because I see certain people every day now. I don't know how to explain it, but I don't take showers EVERY MORNING like I should be. My mom likes to my lecture me on my hygiene. I don't understand it myself. Do you think it could be sensory issues? I don't want to let people down, yet I don't feel like taking a shower every morning without fail even though I can't pinpoint why this is. How can I deal with taking a shower every morning? I have no self-motivation to take one.

Also, it's late Summer where I am too. It feels to sticky to get wet in the shower.

LOL...Just get in the shower! Get it over with.

You get "sticky" when you don't shower, actually. LOL

I don't really like it either. My reason is that I have a problem with doing something every day at the same time, or even in roughly the same time period. I don't naturally keep track of time, so scheduled things hang over my head and give me anxiety because I know that I'll have to watch the clock and plan around them. It takes too much awareness of the world outside myself.

How about if you take a shower once a day, but do it when YOU feel like it? Or take a bath instead?

In the water is one of very few places where, generally, no one will bother you. Enjoy that!

21st century personal hygiene is grossly over-rated - when I was a kid, we had bath day once a week, and we took it in turns with the water - Dad & Mum went first, and then it was me and my sisters.

These days I live alone, and shower every 4th, 5th or 6th day - my water supplier and my gas supplier are highly dubious about my consumption levels...

I was once on a small boat for two weeks with a bunch of guys which included a retired army officer who had commanded a tank during the Suez crisis - on one occasion, he was heard to say 'tonight, please can we stop somewhere where we don't have to have a flickin shower before going to the pub'.

Wash your armpits and your a***hole, and all will be well.

I often wonder about this myself, while I do shower every day (I just like feeling clean at the end of the day), my hair and skin get worse due to it.

Stop using mainstream soap/shampoo. Try a natural product. Clean skin doesn't require soap anyways.

If you have to you could just have a quick shower. I'm the complete opposite and hate not having a shower everyday. If I don't I just feel uncomfortable and my hair is a complete disaster if I don't have a shower anyway.

I'll try that, thanks. Ironically products that are for dry hair and skin seem to do the most damage

Buy yourself some nice soaps so that you look forward to getting in the shower & using them.

I recommend Lush  I could spend so much money on Lush it wouldn't be funny. Alas, I have no money :(

You could listen to music while you showered, leave a portable radio on. That could make the whole bathing ritual less tiresome and boring.

I couldn't bear not showering everyday and feeling sweaty YUK,
Its nice to have a refreshing shower or bath.
Why not try some nice Shower gels and a shower puff they get rid of the impurities and make you smell nice,

You must have social interaction to make it anywhere -except as the filthiest of homeless persons.

Body Odor is probably the most socially damaging of all social gaffes except maybe* outright diarrhea streaming out of your pant legs and over your shoes.
It will permanently adversely affect virtually everyone's respect level towards you even after months of knowing you. Especially if it happens more than once ever.
Body Odor CAN literally be smelled from more than a city block away, even without wind, (I discovered that yesterday) and can linger outdoors in open air for ten or more minutes. It is highly noticeable!
You don't have to be looking in the right direction, nor can you close your eyes, or hum to avoid it.

Women generally have much better sniffers than men, so you'll be extra stinky to them. (even to the cute ones) And women can notice BO right through nearly everything anyone tries to do to cover it up. Studies show that almost nothing fools women in attempted cover-up, not cologne, not belated deodorant, some even sniff it through Febreze.
I can perceive pit odor within ~4 hours of showering w/out deodorant. And I have a poor sniffer.
It happens that fast.

Keep clean every day or kiss away your career and all your potential love life.
Stink is the ultimate anti-sexy.

*(they might just think you were ill and forgive you for that.)
