Not sure how to word this. With diagnosis often comes recommendations or suggestions to help . Perhaps therapy, sensory, speech language, etc.

My psych wants to hear what some of my ideas are just if it sort of matches up some, and to get good idea of what I feel also what would help.

Any information would be helpful. Thinking ahead would be for returning to post-secondary school, job, self-regulation, communication, etc.

Thanks!

I haven't been evaluated yet myself but the reviews on the psych I'm going to see say that he's a drug-pusher type :( I'm curious what other suggestions might be out there that I could ask him about. ( I will not go down the drug route!)

I am not officially diagnosed but involved in assessment right now, and my psychologist has said hypothetically if it comes in as asd then a lot of questions, what would I envision to have for supports or help, suggestions etc to live the most functional life and parent.

I am wondering if I should get it written what supports for future work, or schooling now and eliminate a hassle later on by having it descriptive.

Little Blue Jay....if you want to chat at all as I am not officially diagnosed yet either (and from Canada) please pm me :) I am on anxiety meds and have been for over 10 years but know my psychiatrist pushes for a change every time I see him.

If every time you see your shrink he says to go off the anti-anxiety meds you're on, doesn't that make you anxious? :P

My assessments will finish next week but then I will have to wait about a month to get my report back. I know the recommendations will be very practical and comprehensive, but if I remember to come back to this thread in a month, then I'll let you know what they were. :)
