Right now I'm feeling very socially overloaded and I'm not exactly sure why. I'm hiding out in my room because just the possibility of my room mate saying Hi or asking me something feels very overwhelming if I go to the kitchen and get some food.

I want something for the outside of my door that will let people know my current tolerance for interaction. I could make something myself, but I'd like to see something I can use as a template.
Something that has selections from "I'm up for anything" to "Do not disturb unless someone'd dying" or "Please don't talk to me". I'm just not sure how I want to make it so each one is easily selectable......

I remember seeing something like this online, but I don't remember what they called it and I can't find it. :(

You could write your own message on a dry erase board, or a chalk board, or use the item linked below that records any message.
The dry erase board would probably come with some kind of sticky tape or something to attach it to your door.
Target, Walmart, or an office supply store would carry the first two items most likely.

Good luck :)

You could go with a simple colour code system. Traffic light colours would probably work fine. Hang a Green door hanger to indicate you're up for anything, Yellow for please don't talk to me, or Red for do not disturb unless someone's dying. Most people are already familiar with the whole go, caution, stop associations with green, yellow, and red.. so it could work & be easy for everyone to identify your mood by noticing the colour of the door hanger you've put up. Plus it has the advantage of being a lot faster and more convenient than writing messages on a white board - especially when you're not in the mood for writing and just want to get in your room asap. Also, others don't need to read any messages.. they just see the colour & know what it indicates.
