--Yep I can see your eyes roll ... but bear with me.

We are born, were, held upside down by the doctor and spanked till we cry - yey ,the baby's normal.

this baby knows the meaning to interaction ... it responded..

sometimes the baby will learn to interact later on....

maybe us aspies just don't know the meaning to life.... to interact?

and we are just slowly learning it.

Maybe it's why NT's are so Ghandi like... they can stroll through life being content, that they are alive for the party while they are here?

True - I could have put this thread into Philosophy , but I was trying to convey a piont... most NT's won't spend so much time on the computer in the first place ... the meaning of life to them is interaction between patterns of information which mirrors thier own ... and the PC is a contruct of information which doesn't mirror thier own. ,, and It's interaction, with firstly the environment which produced evolution, and then spawned creatures,,, creatures which would feel 'comfortable' with peices of information just like thier own.

Peices of information = entitiies. = Person = > seeks society. because they require interaction.

--Maybe us Aspies could learn to interact.

Why would we want to do that?

Maybe not a "meaning" to others, but "meaningful" to ourselves? I got up this morning to research Henry II's first landing in England. That's meaningful to me, meaningless to others. Meaningful to me is what counts.

Oh, sorry, I missed your point. Interact - I've been trying to start to learn to interact and I'm getting nowhere. It's a path that would be useful but I wish society weren't so severe on those who can't interact. Or just don't interact.

but ... the only reason you read it, is because someone else wrote it ... you don't read binary? -no matter how much you may want to (I tried to read EXE hEx) -it's not you. An ASpie will read HEX because they have interest to observe, divulge. -but what would be the piont in reading the HEX - it is nothing more than self gratification, an over indulgence. -maybe it's why we don't look into the mirror , we are afraid to read our own information, like it was a rhetorical loop that results in nothing more than disgust.

What makes you think NTs are content? Notice how they always feel they need more stuff, despite how much stuff they already have?

No one is born knowing the meaning of life. Well, actually, we are. We forget, then we spend the rest of our lives trying to remember.

Interaction is learned. Some people learn faster than others. We're developmentally delayed, late bloomers.

What got me onto this is watching the movie Irobot. ...a parody on the first testament. (Last scene, Moses and his poeple leaving the pyramids they built)

In the end, existing, at one with each other - without our creations ... like the wheel ,,,keeps us happy -- when we create beyond our ability to comprehend our creation we give birth to Irobot.... something we can't interact with on our level,,, yet they can interact with us on our level. ...the way we may interact with our pets.

What I am trying to say is that being ASpie, leads to corrupting the species bliss.

I don't see them as interacting at all and I spend considerable time with them and have for years. I see them as constantly seeking validation for what they believe which is why they seek each other out. Besides that, they strike poses to convince others that they are "sure" of things. Of course some are exceptions to that, but that is what I've seen with the majority. They also create plenty of drama for themselves and thrive on it (just look at talk shows and primetime TV because it is full of it). As far as they knowing the meaning of life, I don't see it. I think most of them just hide and try not to make any decisions about anything.

There are some I've met that are keenly intelligent and actually do seek out the meaning of life. Those NTs aren't spending all their time on fake posturing and chit chat. They see the game for what it is and look for other things.

That's been my experience with them. It's all good. The ones who seek out validation are okay with their lives even if they are afraid. That's all that matters. They don't bother me, but I don't want to be them either. We all play fine in the sandbox together.

Just like monkeys that seek each other out, they are content with thier surrounds, and cast out those that are different (Will Smith) -(Although Will Smith in Irobot is highlighting the trait of the traditionalist - seeing that what is happening to his society, makes him uncomfortable)

Elephant Art ... you don't go to the gallery to veiw elephant art, because your kind didn't make it (Although there are some strange people that believe that there is something to be gleened upon)

If the meaning of life is just to interact, then it has NO meaning!

I thought the meaning of life was to go forth and procreate....?

Anything other than that is icing on the cake. We make up reasons for the meaning of life. Procreation is the only empirically verifiable meaning that life can have.

I kind of think it's nice to see if I can leave the planet a little squidge better than it was before I arrived - but that may be just vanity. If 'interaction' is a key meaning then shouldn't we be looking at QUALITY of interaction? Blimey! I can interact with loads of people each day with uniformly abysmal results! Hmm...I guess we need quality interaction in order to get into the procreation mode...LOL!

I don't think life has one universal meaning. I think it is up to the individual to find meaning in his or her own life.
