Will Adderall or Vyvanse help me?
I have really bad ADHD which I consider myself lazy and my psychiatrist and I have discussed treatment options and she thinks I may benefit by starting treatment with medication..
Has stimulants ever helped you? All I want to do is lye down and sleep all day and my focus is pretty darn bad too. I own an online business but can barely keep up with it anymore or go to the post office because I'm always so tired.
If I could I'd take like 5 Xanax pills and just knock myself out all day but I live with annoying parents..
Maybe, I dunno. I'm on Wellbutrin which is an anti-depressant and stimulant alternative I feel it has helped me concentrate a bit and it definitely helps with energy and getting me out of bed. Good thing about it is that it really doesn't have too many side effects like SSRIs or most other drugs do other than it kills my appetite tho. I've lost like almost 20lbs in the month and half I've been taking it, way better the opposite like most drugs like that tho. I am interested in trying ADHD drugs like adderall now to see if it would be more effective since I don't think wellbutrin really helps my depression much anyways.
I've personally been on Ritalin, Ritalin Sr, Dexedrine IR, Concerta, Vyvanse and Adderall XR. I will say that my marks went from C to straight A's but that didn't last longer than a year. The stimulants were awful. They made my mood go on a rollercoaster everyday. Superhuman and happy while they worked during the day and crashes into deep depression at night.
The longer I was on them the more wired and strung out I felt. My social anxiety completely disappeared on them. I talked my head off. I was often aggitated and had a short fuse on them. My appetite was destroyed and the drugs even altered ny taste of food. 95% of food would taste like the cardboard box it came in. I eventually had to stop as the drugs ravaged my body no matter what dose I took. I guess at least I got to experience my potential for a year before I collapsed.
Wellbutrtin XL or SR was the only dopaminergic drug that I did okay on. I never tried statterra because it was not covered by my disability drug plan.
