Anything related to the nature of mental disorders/conditions.

I don't really come here for chit chat. I am disgustingly intrigued by autism.

It's very hard to pick one... But having been here long enough to see a lot of questions come up again and again, I would say that I would go for the chat threads in the Off the wall section. It makes me connect with members in a way no other thread does and it makes me feel part of a community.

Autism in general but listening to people talk about their Special Interests. It fascinates me how the majority of us have them, how much they mean to us and how much time we actually devote to them. To me, it's kinda the hallmark of having an ASD.

Discussing treatments that have been effective for me & the latest R&D into the ASD gut-brain link and probiotic treatments.

I noticed. :D

I think mine would be discussing stuff to do with social skills. I believe that every Aspie is different when it comes to that sort of thing, so its interesting to know how each other are socially. I also like threads discussing the Sims, and about cartoons and films.

I love it when there's a thread about a social faux pas someone done and is worrying about it.

No one particular favourite, but Love & Dating always interested me a lot because I'm fascinated by the study of relationships. I also like In-Depth Adult Life Discussion because for some reason the topics often interested me. General Autism Discussion has also been a rich source of stimulating topics for me. Most of the other forms haven't interested me much. In some cases that's mainly because I haven't really looked at them.

I'd really like to interact with other members but I have no idea how. I would probably end up offending/weirding out/discomforting other members if I did. I'd like to participate in chatting kinds of threads but they are off limits to me for that reason. So some types of topics (threads) that make the posters interact with each other in a structured way are the ones that I can happily and comfortably participate in. An example is the "Interview the person below you" thread. There are some others like that, too.

for example i have an interest in languages and linguistics, problem is the dedicated forum to it here on WP is SO SLOW AND DEAD i've posted what i want to say and since i'm not going to make another post after another of mine, when there is nothing else to respond to i sit there waiting for new posts...there's a few others who post there occasionally besides me thankfully. (Booyakasha, Spiderpig i am looking at you. :P :D )

Wait... There's a section devoted to that? I love linguistics! I'm mostly into ancient languages though, primarily Arabic, Aramaic, ancient Hebrew, Koine, Attic, and Ionian Greek, Latin, and Norse. Can't seem to find what you're talking about, though.

well it is not labeled as "linguistics" but the very last forum down, Español, Nederlands, Deutsch, Français seemed like a better fit than the rest.

General Discussion Forum - anything related to the challenges of being on the Autism Spectrum.
