Just watched this & thought people here might like to see it and could benefit from it. There are several interesting points made about the value of social connections in our lives. This is something some people here seem to have difficulty comprehending, and thus I thought it was a good video to share - especially considering it's a neuroscientist sharing his thoughts on it all.

One point that made me smile was when he mentions that as analytical processing goes up, social processing goes down.. duh! I think all of us here are quiiiite familiar with that phenomenon. :P But still, watch the video, there's plenty of good stuff in it to learn and discuss for sure. 8)

Random Thoughts

I think the talk is flawed in assuming this principle applies to everybody. Vast majority yes, everybody no.

I would be curious to see what would happen if a control group was put in an environment where social was discouraged on a constant basis.
