Does anyone else always have their hands by their face? Thumb on one side of the face and finger on the other? Or biting a finger hard enough to leave marks?

I was talking to someone the other day. I had known her only a couple minutes and took my hands from my face to talk to her, telling her 'Sorry, I put my hands near my face a lot'. She said used to also but outgrew that. Kind of hurt my feelings being told it is a childish behavior. I wouldn't say childish is the right word. Not really even nervous habit since I do it in any mood. Just habit? Maybe but I do like the feeling of my face, or at least my mouth and part of face are covered.

I'm a mature 41-year old man and I still do that.

As I clicked this thread actually. Is that weird? I don't know. I always I have my head in my hands, have my hand on my forehead, leaning my face up against my closed fist, whatever. I don't even think about it.

I do it a lot, I believe it is related to trying to hide from eye contact.

I still do, a lot. Especially when people's attention is on me.

I often put my fingers in my mouth and either chew on them or rub my teeth. I need to remember to wash my hands after using the bathroom.

Sometimes I press down with my hand on the top of my head, or I do it with my whole arm if I'm stressed about something. I don't know if I put my hands on my face though.

Only when I'm studying for finals, and even then it's rare. Other than that, never.

I put my hand on the side of my head. Sometimes two.

In more detail:
I use my middle and index finger and put them to the side of my head and then flatten them out so that they are pointing at my ear.
