There is the Wikipedia article about sluggish cognitive tempo (disorder) sometimes named also as concentration deficit disorder (CDD):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sluggish_cognitive_tempo

SCT is proposed to be a similar disorder to the predominantly inattentive presentation of ADHD, but, as discussed later, importantly distinct from it. The list of symptoms that follows is from a leading researcher of SCT, however, no universally accepted set of symptoms has been developed since this symptom cluster has not yet been recognized as an independent disorder. Additionally, requirements for a proposed diagnosis such as the number of symptoms, the duration of symptoms, and the impact on functioning are continuing to be investigated.

Sluggish cognitive tempo symptoms:

- Prone to daydreaming,
- difficulty staying awake or alert in boring situations,
- easily confused,
- easily bored,
- spacey or 'in a fog',
- lethargic or more tired than others,
- underactive or less energetic than others,
- slower moving,
- doesn't process information as quickly or as accurately as others.

Recent studies indicate that the symptoms of SCT in children form two dimensions: daydreamy-spacey and sluggish-lethargic, and that the former are more distinctive of the disorder from ADHD than the latter.[28] This same pattern was recently found in the first study of adults with SCT by Barkley. This has also been the case with more recent studies of college students. These studies indicated that SCT is probably not a subtype of ADHD but a distinct disorder from it. Yet it is one that overlaps with ADHD in 30-50% of cases of each disorder, suggesting a pattern of comorbidity between two related disorders rather than subtypes of the same disorder.

There is also a quiz about SCT symptoms:

http://psychcentral.com/quizzes/sluggish-cognitive-tempo-quiz.htm

I suppose that I may have it. I am slow in doing jobs, somewhat "drowsy" and "spacey", I do not know from when. Many things are boring for me. I do not like doing things so fast, but my scholastic performance was generally good. I am somewhat inattentive and do not like boring situations, but maybe it is related rather to "restricted interests" than to SCT or AD(H)D. I like daydreaming really much. I was described as hyperactive sometimes on school, but I think that I may have even quite serious SCT. Many symptoms of SCT fits me really good: prone to daydreaming, being "spacey", slow moving, having less energy than others, lethargic or more tired than others, some confusability. I do not know if I process information more slowly or less accurately than others, but it may be so even despite my scholastic talent and intellectual "brightness". I think that my sluggishness may be a problem in occupational area. My mother sometimes named me as "obecny a nieprzytomny" ("present but unconscious", "spacey"(?)) or "ślumok" (colloqial form of the word "ślimak" ("snail") used to describe sluggish person). SCT is rather unknown in my country, but it may be quite serious problem for me.

I am the opposite. My brain is constantly on fast mode, calculating, theorising, analysing. In fact only high dose antipsychotics (which primarily treat my psychosis and OCD, but also some aspects of autism like my challenging behaviour) stop me from running around all day scribbling theories on hundreds of sheets of paper and having racing thoughts.

Last time I stopped my meds a few years ago, I was sectioned and in hospital I covered a whole large notebook with maths equations and theories, as well as not sleeping for 4 days straight because my brain was racing so much.

I do not know if I have literally "sluggish cognitive tempo", but I may think that I am developmentally and "pervasively" "sluggish", "lethargic" and "deconcentrated" despite my hyperactivity, stimming etc. I do more complicated things rather slowly. Many symptoms from SCT description fits me. I may have occupational problems due to it. I may have problem with doing many things as quickly or accurately as others. "Obsessive", "restricted" interests also can be an obstacle in work because of their narrow character and "ecompassivity" which can impair attention.

I have wondered for some years if I might have SCT. I took the quiz just now and scored 28, the cutoff point between moderate and strong SCT.

Is SCT associated with slower tempo of writing essays, making projects? I do not like hurry, I like to do simple things slowly, it is like playing, it may give pleasure and not be boring. I do not remember from when I am somewhat "snaily"...

I think that I may have something which is named as "maladaptive daydreaming" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maladaptive_daydreaming). It is about somewhat blissful memories, usually in the form of visual pictures from the past (such as "scenes" with road signs). Maybe some "spaceyness" and "sleepiness", deconcentration is associated with it.

I also like to dream a lot. Fantasies may be about development of my place of living, which is small "settlement". Many fantasies have metaphorical "message" in it. They may be about maps from games or pages (such as based on this map with ancient European tribes: http://www.ancient.eu/uploads/images/269.png). It may look as a type of talent for me. It may even cause excitation, agitation which may lead to stimming.
