Is this a sensory thing? Do you do it? Loud music + rocking

Sometimes, well quite often actually, I like to plug my headphones (big ones that cover your whole ear, not the uncomfortable tiny ones that go in your ear) into my computer, turn the music up really loud and rock in my chair for hours. I've been doing that this evening a lot, for 3 hours so far.
Does anyone else do this? Is this a sensory thing? Do NTs do this too?
I have done, though sometimes music could be too loud to handle and shutdown, sometimes music helps soothe rocking. But other times I can't handle any amount of sound and can't rely on this as a method of soothing the sences all the time.
