Im just wondering what peoples views are on medication for these type of things, are you for or against them? :)

Please only post here if you take or are related to someone who takes these kind of things.

I've tried reboxetine a noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor and wellbutrin a dopamine re-uptake inhibitor that has strong noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor metabolites.
Both at rather high doses 20 mg reboxetine and 500 mg for wellbutrin. They clearly both have some focus boosting effects.

I think one problem your going to have is not feeling like yourself. You maybe living in
mostly theta wave daydreaming state your entire life and you feel that is the real you.
Anti-ADHD drugs can switch alot of that daydreaming state of mind off and that will be
something your not use to.

Why take drugs when theres nothing wrong with you?
We seem to be going back to the 1960s and 70s when gormless doctors handed out tranquilisers like sweeties.

Hello,

I am allright with just about every part of my Asperger's (the rest of the world can get bent!)

My probloem is people that you have to work with who insult you and you cannot escape. I lose my temper and tell them what hypocrites they are because they are guilty of the exact same thing that they had just accused me of. I have a temper and I am defensive after being on this planet 38 yrs and taking a lot of s**t for most of that time. I will not take s**t anymore from anyone over anything.

I was wondering if I should try some drug or other when I return home (I have been in Baghdad for 20 months and plan on staying as long as Bush is in office).

Are there any drugs that will mellow me out without fundamentally changing me?

Right now I am working with a man for 12 1/2 hours a day 7 days a week and we both despise each other. I held out my hand in friendship and even stuck my neck out for him, then when he insulted my personality (do not do that, I am not going to change for you or anyone) and I warned him not to do that again, he did the very next day, we almost came to blows. If that happened, we both go home to America automatically. Dumbass. Small-minded NT who cannot accept any difference.

Where the hell was I, oh yeah, any advice on a drug to try to mellow me out, I am pretty feisty?

thanks for any advice,

crazedchef

Different medications can have diffrent affects on many people, you would have to experement with diffrent types until you find the one that you think suites you best. :)

Any specific ones for anger? I have heard of Xanex, Wellbutrin, prozac etc... but what about personal anecdotes on the various effects of each, I have not taken any of them.

Theres nothing wrong with people drinking tea or coffee either. Its the same thing only better targeted medications such as dextroamphetamine can benefit those who need
more CNS stimulation and less SNS stimulation associated with caffeine.

I just don't trust anything that hasn't stood the test of time. Like, at least 500 years.

Okay then Khat chewing works for me :) Though in theory cathinone has alot more SNS effects than amphetamines. Oh its the pronounced SNS effects of ephedra why you can no longer get OTC products with it in the US anymore.
