Today, I had my usual three monthly trip to the hairdresser... I always do this when I am at my mother's in London, and go to the same guy as her...he has been doing her hair for 12 years and mine for maybe 8 years, on and off...but I find it very uncomfortable. There is the mirror, and him stood behind, and he is one of those friendly types who tries to make conversation. Last time, I actually managed to have an ok conversation, although still incredibly uncomfortable. Today...it didn't quite work lol.

I was sat there, looking at my lap and thoughts racing through my mind to keep myself distracted...when as he was blowdrying my hair, I had this hilarious image in my mind of my hair all bouffant and sticking out everywhere like a hedge...naturally, my lips started to twitch and I was trying so hard to stifle a grin...so I tried to focus on something really serious, but then...Oh God, he tried to undo the apron thing around me and pulled tight for a moment...and I had this image of a newspaper headline, 'Hairdresser strangles customer'. Oh dear, that almost had me grinning insanely, I had to put so much effort into not laughing and looking totally insane.

Anyone else have any funny incidents like this?

I have the same problem. Overactive imagination. I can be thinking about something really funny and people will just stare at me. My family are used to it (sorta).

I think it's hilarious!

It's even funnier when you get a joke two hours after it was told.

I do that a lot. I'll be walking dowh the street and start thinking about something and start laughing to myself. That's about when I go around a corner to find someone looking at me and I try to stifle it but sometimes it doesn't work too well.

Yeah it happens to me quite a lot.

Also, do you find that people sometimes think you've got a really clever sense of humour because you sound sarcastic or ironically stupid.... except in truth you honestly don't have a clue what's going on?

Last night we had a band play and they were playing with oneof my stuffed animals on the stage..and the guy made a quiet comment onstage about how sad it looked (it was this sad bear i didn't make but altered to look sad)..and I started laughing hystericly and then everyone turned around and stared at me.

Lmao! Hairdresser strangles client...that's fooking hilarious XD

I've had a random humour moment or two, right when I didn't need it (hence, needed it the most). Major deadline moment, running around like a mad thing tending to the rest of the office and our sales team of five...I'm the only graphic designer in a fairly hefty publication :? Everyone's always calling me over...it's stressful. Someone demanded my attention again...I barked a loud 'WHAT?!' as I got up from my seat to head over to them... some dumbass had ONCE AGAIN rearranged my desk (the boss hates my messy desk) and had moved my bigass grunty headphones to the other side of the table.

Of course, that meant they were wrapped around me.

Which of course means I faceplanted, as in literally faceplanted anime-style, over the long cord! Cue tension dissipation in place of hysterical laughter all around. No more grumpy designer...

LMAO! Good story. Yes I have a very vivid and humorous imagination as well that pops up at not so very apropos moments.

If forced to explain my laughter I find that I may have thought it hilarious, but others... well, not so much.

Sometimes it does'nt take much.

Especially if someone is talking with me very seriously about something I find not so interesting, just the thought of pulling a pie out from behind my back and well you know... the old pie-in the-face gag.

Hmmm yes that is rather innappropriate, oh well I would'nt really do it... or would I

Inappropriate humor?
All the time.
Could be one more reason I don't go to church!

LOL, one of the worst places to have an attack of the giggles...been there, done that, and the more you try to stop, the worse it becomes... And when someone else sees you and starts giggling too...

yep, i twist around whatever the priest says and makes into something humorous...it's a good time waster.

This happens to me all the time!.
Just today, I was walking back from lunch and amusing myself as I walked, when one of my workmates walked past me and asked why I was so "smiley" :P .
I can get away with it in the office because my desk faces the wall and no-one can see my face. Keeping myself silent is the hard part

I find it impossible to contain my thoughts in church. I don't
burst out laughing, but boy would I be struck down if they
ever knew what I was thinking.
