I'm trying to have sex reassignment surgery and I scheduled a consult for 4:30 on Tuesday, but for some reason I kept thinking I set it for 12 (a time we had discussed on the phone) and bought my bus tickets based on that (I gotta go to San Francisco). I can't make the appointment and I called today hoping to reschedule for 12 on Tuesday if it's still available, but I was forced to leave a message (and this was at about 12 PM), and they did not get back to me. :(

This has me anxious.

I also forgot to ask my doctor about one aspect of the surgery I needed to do so I gotta go back.

It might be worth following up with a phone call 15mins or so after they open for business after the weekend.
I don't suppose you could hang out in the city for the 4 hours or so? Is it a long way?

No. I'm going anyway because I moved to Sac more than 6 months ago and still haven't been out to see San Fran.

Thanks for the tip.

And messed it up again. For some reason, when I rescheduled it for week after next (13th), the lady kept thinking I meant the 6th and set it for that, and at that point I was too confused to understand that's what was meant (coming in the beginning of the month confused me). Now I have to call back.

Good god. I hope this place isn't like that one doctor's office I tried to go to more than a year ago that lets you reschedule only 3 times, even with plenty of notice, or you're out. Because I don't know if I'd have anywhere else to go.

The reason I can't go the 6th is because to schedule a bus ride I am going to have to withdraw more money from my IRA, but I can only do that in September. I can do it as early as 9/1, but I still won't get the check (even with the fastest delivery service) until the day after labor day, the 6th itself, meaning I can't make it that day. Dr. Garcia only sees patients on Tuesdays, so being unable to go on the 6th means I must go on the 13th.

And of course when I call back they're not available, and won't be until tomorrow, during my bus ride, which means more waiting. Navigating their phone system is a pain. The person today offered me the assistant's phone number, but I was not in a place where I could write it down and my short term memory's crap, so I just turned it down. If the assistant doesn't return my message (and I have a feeling she won't), I'll have to navigate it anew.

My memory continues to fail me. I left a message and sent an email to schedule for 9/13, but now I remember I have to psyche appointments that day, including with my psychiatrist who it's hard to schedule with and will want to see me again to continue my meds.

I guess I will have to call again to push it off another week until 9/20, because the guy only does consults on Tuesdays. Tuesdays have been such bad days for me lately. Jeez!

On another note, I had an advocate's appointment on Monday, but I guess with all the diarrhea and bloating I was having I forgot about it. I will go in person tomorrow and explain the situation to them.

Jeez! Forgot, forgot, forgot! My new catch phrase!

Why is my memory failing me like this? I'm troubled.
