I Went To A Psychiatrist Recently
I Went To A Psychiatrist Recently with my mom.
It was my first time, I expected it to be like a formal interview in which the has a pile of questionnaires and tad serious looking, but it wasn't as I expected. When I was called out to get in the room, there was no questionnaire, just a plain faced guy with an eyeglasses politely welcoming me. To sum it up, I just talked anything of my concerns while he's just listening.
Though, he ask a bit more on how I feel depressed and about suicidal thoughts. His questions also emphasized well on how I feel about being literally slow.
He talked to my mom after and then told us that I've got dysthymia, social phobia and a possible cognitive dysfunction. He didn't specify it though. He referred me to a clinical psych
And told me to get back after the complete psychological battery testing w/ projective test to interpret the results.
I haven't taken it yet, maybe a few months from now since I'm busy in school.
Now I feel so anxious about it, and even depressed to know about dysthymia.
I just wanna ask what are your experiences in the process. And how it affects your life. Thanks a lot.
