We've gone over this, several times before----with different "twists"----but, I thought, maybe, in light of another shooter being said to have Asperger's, there might be a different take, on being called "crazy".

I've been called weird many times, pretty sure I've been called crazy at least once. Never been called ret*d, but I know I'd take definite exception to that. I don't really like being called anything negative, especially where it relates to my disability. It doesn't seem fair to target my condition when someone is verbally insulting me; it's like they're taking advantage of an extra weak spot I have that nobody else does.

I've been called ret*d many times in my life and I felt hurt each time it happened. I was called crazy a few times and that didn't really bother me, because everybody has their crazy moments.

I've been called ret*d and crazy so much they seem like my names at this point. There's nothing I can do about that. In any case, being called ret*d means at least I belong to a group, that the group happens to be those with intellectual and developmental disabilities is superfluous.

Oh man....when I grew up, I really disdain being called ret*d. I think the ones who ignorantly calls people that for no reason are the ones who are ACTUALLY ret*d (just my opinion).

I'd hate to belong to that group. I enjoy spending time with crazy people and they can be cool, so being called crazy isn't too bad.

If we were actually called one or the other instead of both that would be an improvement

One could be good crazy or bad crazy. There's no such thing as good ret*d.

I once tore a kid's ligaments in 7th grade because he followed me around all day calling me ret*d.

I would say the R word is worse, and I refuse to even type it, it's that offensive to me.

I'd rather be called words like "stupid", "slow" or "dopey", than words like "weird". People seem to be more afraid of weird people than stupid people. So I want to fall into the "stupid" category.

I was called a worse word "Spastic" I hate that word I think its a horrible ugly word even when the shorted it to spaz or spacca.

When I was buying something from the shop one day and the scanner wasn't working The woman behind the counter said it gone spacca, I said to her "Beg your Pardon" she changed the wording after that.

I don't give a f**k if I'm called crazy. there are all types of crazy.
i don't like being called ret*d, or even hearing that word come out of someone's mouth unless they're literally talking about the retardation of a moving material.

people can say "but the meaning of the word is different now, so there is no reason to be offended", and while that could be true in the case of certain words, ret*d is not one of them.

ret*d. Its actually quite repulsing to be called that by the everyday NT ret*ds.

Please refrain from bashing NTs, they are humans too.

I think ret*d is more offensive, I personally don't care if someone calls me that but I am saying its more offensive of a word in general.
