Who or what orgs. are part of your support system and how did you connect with them?

Social Services are the only support I receive, it's not really what I need but nothing else is available.

I have recently been allocated an ASD social worker, whom will be meeting me again on the 21st Jan. But asides from her and my family I am unsupported.

It's evident there are multiple definitions of support system. My support system includes my friends at work, Facebook friends, some but not all extended family, my primary care physician, my therapist (who unfortunately just retired), my physical therapist, my yoga teacher, friends in my yoga class, and my gym, where I am friendly with some staff and some members. Oh and my hair stylist who I have been going to for several years. Oh and my dentist and dental hygienist.

Even if you only see someone occasionally, such as a dentist, if you feel a rapport and feel you could talk to them about a problem, they are part of your support system.

My partner who is more outgoing than me, actually knows the people at our drugstore by name and some of the checkers at the grocery store. That support system is more wide than deep, while mine is more deep than wide.
