My psychiatrist said that antidepressants without a mood stabilizer (e.g., lithium salts, Abilify) can make bipolar manias more severe and more likely. I've got bipolar type II, which means the manic episodes are not as severe and prone to delusions like thinking the CIA is tapping my phone or something, and manifest as moodiness, anxiety and irritability instead of crazy shopping binges or sex sprees. So my bad days have me swinging from crying jags to shrieking at somebody over some minor thing (usually my wife, who has the patience of a saint).
I'm
not saying you have bipolar disorder, because I'm not a mental health professional and I'm just some schmuck on the internet, but if you are on any meds, you might want to have your psychiatrist reevaluate them.
