I think everyone has autism but some people have it more than others and some people have it less than others.

No, everyone does not have autism. If everyone had autism, it would be called being normal, not autism.

Everybody has at least one or two autistic traits, but technically they aren't autistic traits in a completely non-autistic person. People with disabilities other than autism, like Down's Syndrome or Fragile-X or ADHD can share some autistic traits enough to be notable but not enough to be autistic.

The brain is a very complex thing, so you've got to use your common sense when trying to understand where the line draws, otherwise by demanding a logical explanation all the time for everything to do with neurology, we could go on forever without getting anywhere.

Autism isn't like freckles where everyone has them, some more than others. It is a very specific condition, where criteria has to be met in order for it to be diagnosed. However there are lot of people who can relate to those who have autism and vice versa.

We need to remember the autistic "Triad of Impairments" described by Lorna Wing: Limited Communication, Limited Social Relationships and Some Repetitive/Routine Behaviors which affect an individual's life. I believe that many NTs have one or two of the triad impairments, but having all three in demonstrable ways is relatively rare. Too bad that those NTs with one or two impairments don't understand autism more.

I wouldn't say everyone has autism. Everyone has some of the traits sometimes, but only a few have the traits to some extent that they are disabling. I think saying everyone has autism prevents those who actually have a disability from getting the support they need.

Autism is a definite disorder. There's a wide range of functioning levels within the entity known as autism.

Most people are not autistic. Almost all people, though, have some sort of "condition."

We often hear this said, mainly by NTs, but I have never come across any evidence to suggest that it is true. There are certainly traits that are found in people with an ASC, but these are often shared by those with other conditions. From a clinical perspective, what causes the behaviours is more important that the way these behaviours present.

There appears to be a broad and complex autism spectrum that is part of the wider neurodiverse spectrum, which also includes neurotypicals. The human race is neurodiverse - but no, everyone doesn't have autism.

No I don't think everyone has autism. Every one might have something that is part of it to a degree but it doesn't mean it's a symptom nor does it mean it's a trait. Like lot of kids are picky eaters, everyone might have a hard time relating to someone due to different interests and political views and the kind of people they are, some people are just introverted so they get exhausted after social situations, and people might be annoyed when they see a road they usually take is blocked off due to an accident or road repairs or something but they get over it quickly and their day isn't ruined nor has it thrown them off for the day. It's about degree.
